What is airsoft?
Air soft is a game meant for those containing not only pain endurance, but also tactical intelligence. Similar to paint ball you have a gun, but instead of balls of paint, they shoot plastic pellets. There are such things as air soft "arenas", but they are not at all a necessity. Air soft guns work just as well as BB guns at aiming at targets in the backyard. They are not meant to injure those who are shot, although eye wear is necessary when playing with your friends. They come in all different sizes , and kinds. In my next post you can see what sources of power enable the guns to shoot.

Types of Airsoft Guns
There are two main types of air soft guns; spring-powered, and gas.
Spring-powered guns come in all shapes and sizes. They are obviously powered by a spring. They have to be pumped in order to fire, and are semi-automatic.
Electric-powered guns are obviously powered by electricity, most likely a battery. They can be semi-automatic, burst, or fully automatic. The only difference is that they use a small motor to pull the spring back so they are under the same catagory as spring.
Gas-powered guns are fired by CO2, that comes in small cartriges. These are generally the fastest-shooting and hardest-hitting. They also come in semi-automatic, burst, or fully automatic.
Out of all three types, spring would be the cheapest in the long run. No matter what price paid for the gun, you won't have to go through batteries or gas cartridges. Gas-powered guns tend to be the most popular for the customer very into air soft. These guns are still extremely good for backyard fun, though. Electric guns are cool beyond the imagination. Anything, no matter the quality, that can shoot in full automatic is a plus but if it shoots around 120 balls per minute you could just buy a semi-automatic and shoot faster
My list would look something like this
1-gas (Being involved in the air soft community)
2-electric (Very fun to just waste time with)
3-spring (By all means, don't get me wrong, they are very comparable with gas and electric guns, just that capability of being able to shoot in full-automatic is a great feature)

Air soft pellets
Air soft guns are all required to shoot plastic pellets. These pellets range from 0.12-0.80 grams and 6-8 mm thick. The heavier ones tend to be used in the stronger guns, such as snipers, and they are much more accurate (they hurt more when they hit too!). They come in all different colors and are meant to stick out in their surroundings. They are not too expensive, but if you are a very competitive air soft player than the tolls do add up.

Air soft power
Air soft guns range greatly in power. First off, air soft guns are not at all meant to injure greatly those who are shot. Despite a brief or insane sting, air soft guns are not supposed to leave the opponent seriously injured. The power of a twenty dollar air soft gun doesn't even compare with that of a two-hundred dollar gun. The power of a gun is measured in fps or feet per second. The fps of guns range from 100 fps all the way up into the mid 500 fps. As I said before, air soft guns powered by gas generally surpass the speed of a spring gun. Spring air soft guns still manage to match the power of a gas powered gun. An expensive spring powered gun, does match the quality of a middle of the line to upper gas gun.In the air soft "arenas" higher powered guns tend to be used. In order to buy a more powerful gun the price dramatically inclines.

Sizes and shapes of air soft guns
As I said before air soft guns come in all different sizes and shapes. There are many different varieties as there are in real guns. There are pistols, shotguns, rifles, sniper rifles, assault rifles, sub-machine guns, and there are even tanks that fire the small pellets. They all have the same fire potential and are just put in different shapes for style.

Airsoft vs Paintball
Containing much expertise in the fields of both air soft and paint ball a decision between them was made easier.
Similarities:
Air soft and paint ball are both tactical games where the main objective is to eliminate players of the opposing side. They both involve carrying a gun around and unleash it, with non-life threatening bullets. Paint ball and air soft also both have designated arenas for the intense, action games.
Differences:
There are multiple differences between paint ball and air soft. The most obvious being, that air soft guns shoot pellets, and paint ball guns shoot balls filled with paint. In air soft, an arena is not as drastically needed. You can just as easily play in the backyard in an open area, and just unload at each other. In paint ball either an arena is needed, or a heavily wooded space is needed. Paint ball guns are all powered by CO2 or compressed air. Air soft guns can be fueled by gas, electricity, or springs.
Consensus:
Air soft and paint ball are both adrenaline pumping games, however, they exceed each other in some categories.
Air soft :
Air soft is much better to just shoot around leisurely, at friends. They are also much lighter and easier to carry around. They have cheaper ammo and they hurt just as much.
Paint ball:
Paint ball is much better in arenas, because it is much harder to wipe off paint than to cover-up a stinging sensation.

Airsoft Pistols
Airsoft pistols are great guns for beginners new to the fast-paced sport and also highly skilled experts looking for a backup gun or using it as their main source of firepower. Like most guns, pistols can be powered by either gas, electricity or spring which are all comparable to the bigger airsoft guns like rifles, automatics, shotguns and snipers. The gas and electric powered guns tend to be geared more towards the experts and veterans of the game. Usually these guns range in power from 250 f.p.s. to 400 f.p.s. These high-powered toys can be quite expensive though with low prices in the 50$ range and high prices topping out at 125$. To fire this gun at maximum potential though you need CO2 or green gas which can be loaded into your guns magazine. If your not interested in paying that much money don't fret, because the spring powered pistols give you almost as much joy and power as their pricier counterparts. Usually these pistols are smaller and more of a grab-and-go gun. If your a beginner not prepared enough for a high powered gun or an expert not willing to pay high prices,a spring powered gun suits many players needs. These cheaper versions can top out at about 50$ with f.p.s ranging from 200 to 350. The gas and electric powered guns usually begin a spray of fire with a single pump which is a lot better than having to pump for every shot with a spring powered version. All three kinds of these pistols can be altered in many ways though, starting with lasers and going all the way up to flashlights. Whatever your skill level is, any one of these guns can be enjoyed happily if you carry a lot of magazines and wear the proper protection.

DE M47 Shotgun RIS Shot Gun Laser Light
DE M47 Shotgun RIS Shot Gun Laser Light is one of the nicest guns that you can find in the price range. At 330 fps with 0.12 gram pellets, a price of $25 is way more than reasonable. The kit at amazon.com (I have a link for it) is great. A red-laser dot, safety-goggles, 20 round capacity, and a 4-pound weight, make this gun kit well worth the money. This gun is also very reliable, it has never jammed in my experiences with it. One easy pump equals one, powerful shot. This is good for both beginners and experts.
